I attended UCLA as an undergraduate and obtained a BA in Psychology. After raising a family and working in the financial industry for many years, I made a decision to follow my passion and returned to graduate school to pursue counseling. I received high honors and a MS in Counseling as well as a PPS credential from California State University, Los Angeles. While there, I provided couples counseling and family therapy.
My 12 years of providing therapy in a non-profit setting helped me gain experience working with a diversified population as well as gain expertise in treating depression, anxiety and recovery from trauma. I was trained and certified in working with depressed teens, suicidal ideation, self harm and anxiety. I provided group and individual therapy and my expertise in family systems therapy contributed to successful work with all clients. During this time, I also supervised interns and guided 2nd year graduate students during their first year of providing mental health services.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2007. I am currently focusing on the client-therapist relationship by taking a humanistic approach to working with individuals and couples. I am passionate about good mental health and helping people identify barriers to their goals and dreams. I believe in the power of working together to make the changes you want for your life and focusing on strengths for an overall healthier you!
