Rachel Lee
LMFT, Registered Art Therapist

There are times in our lives when the burdens we carry become too much to bear and we need to reach out for support. It takes courage to take the first step in reaching out for professional help. Whether you are seeking therapy for your own self-improvement, for help with a difficult relationship, a recent struggle or an ongoing problem, there is hope in the midst of your circumstance. Therapy requires a level of vulnerability and trust, which can be scary. Therefore, I consider it an honor to walk with you on this therapeutic journey. From our first session, I will greet you with a warmth and curiosity, and always without judgment.

I am oriented toward a Person-Centered/Humanistic approach to therapy, but depending on your specific needs and goals, I will adapt interventions using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy among others. In addition to treating relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety and grief, I am trained in evidenced-based treatments for trauma, substance abuse, anger management, and parenting. I am experienced in working with children, adolescents and young adults and I am qualified to see individuals, couples and families in my practice.

For some, finding the words to express difficult emotions can be challenging. Therein lies the the magic of Art Therapy. As a Registered Art Therapist, I offer a non-verbal means of expression, which can sometimes be more powerful and revelatory than talk therapy. My belief is that if a solution can be created on paper, with clay or other means, then perhaps it can begin to take real shape in our daily lives.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT #80906 in the state of California, certified by the Board of Behavioral Sciences. I am also a Registered Art Therapist, ATR #13-314, certified by the Art Therapy Credentials Board. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the American Art Therapy Association- Southern California chapter (SoCal AATA). I hold a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute and Bachelor’s Degree in Art from Point Loma Nazarene University.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in your journey!
