Cindy Wang
LMFT

In my practice, I utilize a strengths-based, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach. I believe that we all have the ability to use our innate strengths to overcome obstacles and reach our goals. Through the development of a strong therapeutic relationship, I provide a safe space for my clients and their families to explore, heal, and grow.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT#105588) and have experience working with youth, adults, and families with the following issues and concerns: Academic Challenges, ADHD, Adjustment, Anxiety, Communication, Depression, Life Transitions/Changes, Parenting Difficulties, Post-traumatic Stress, and Family Conflict. I am trained in evidence-based practices and utilize a variety of treatment approaches including: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Positive Parenting Program, and Child Parent Psychotherapy.

In my work with children and families, I strive to support the caregiver and the child to build a more secure, warm attachment with each other. I believe that a strong, supportive caregiver-child relationship is the most important factor in the growth and healing for children of all ages. Therapy is a safe space for children to freely express their needs and feelings. I utilize play, art, and cognitive behavioral therapy interventions to facilitate the development of age appropriate skills including social skills, communication skills, emotional regulation skills, and problem-solving skills. I work collaboratively with caregivers to enhance parenting skills, build positive relationships with their children, and increase positive interactions among family members.

In my work with adults, I aim to help clients build on their strengths, develop coping strategies, and achieve their goals. I tailor my therapeutic interventions to each client’s individual needs. I help the client to gain awareness into underlying thought patterns and beliefs that may have developed from childhood and create a new narrative for their lives. I work to support the client in creating a life according to their own personal values and to develop meaningful relationships with others. My hope is that through working together, the client will develop self-acceptance, resilience, and a sense of empowerment to make changes towards a happier, more fulfilling life.

I look forward to supporting you in your journey of self-discovery and healing. You can reach out by phone or email to see if I would be a good fit for your needs. I am based out of the Burbank office.
