I have a passion for empowering clients, who are experiencing emotional and social difficulties, to work towards profound and lasting personal growth and to develop and maintain meaningful relationships. I am a firm believer that the most powerful and important factor in therapy is the therapeutic alliance - the relationship and bond between the therapist and the client. Therefore, I focus first on rapport building when we begin treatment. I hope for therapy to be an open and safe environment for you to gain insight and understanding into your feelings and behaviors, and to help you access your strengths and utilize available resources to achieve positive change in your life. Since therapy is an immensely different process for each individual, I strive to implement a culturally sensitive counseling approach and framework based on your needs to help you meet your goals, which we will work together to establish.

During the past 5 years that I have been in practice, I have worked in various capacities to support individuals from diverse socioeconomic and racial backgrounds by conducting assessments, providing individual/group psychotherapy, individual/group rehabilitation, client advocacy, and case management services. I have extensive experience and am open to working with all populations and age groups, including individuals, families, couples, adolescents, teenagers, adults, and older adults.

I received my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minor in Philosophy from the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona. I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California and I am also an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). In addition to English, I am fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and can conduct therapy in both languages.
