Bio:
June Neely is a Writer and Producer based in LA. She’s worked in the film/tv industry for over 10 years on projects like They Cloned Tyrone, Queer Eye, and Love is Blind. Previously she worked on a few amazing podcasts for a non-profit. Crossing the Line (nominated for Ambies and Webbys) as well as The State of: Women (nominated for Ambies). She’s also the EP/Host of Story For Good, the podcast where entertainment meets impact.
Can you tell us about your background and what led you to this profession?
I’ve been working in the entertainment industry for over ten years now. I started making short videos and writing scripts in high school. Eventually, I went to college in NJ at Fairleigh Dickinson University and studied film with a minor in theater arts. Once I graduated I moved back to MN and worked as a theater stage manager, while working customer service jobs, and picking up film gigs. In 2017 I moved to Atlanta to work full-time in the film/TV industry and have been in it ever since.
Can you tell us about your professional history/journey/milestones?
After I moved to ATL, I worked various roles in reality and scripted TV/Film. One of the first projects was Queer Eye seasons 1 & 2. During this time I also made a short film called The Bookepper. After 5 years I decided to take the next big leap and moved to LA. I’ve been here for 3 years. Since in LA, I’ve worked as a Development Coordinator for a non-profit, a Travel/Production Coordinator for various shows, and now as a Video Producer for Wondery. What drives you professionally and personally?
I’m a creative person and filmmaking is my art. My passion is creating and telling stories. I love a good story. I’ve always wanted to work in this industry and can’t imagine doing anything else. My ultimate goal is to be a Showrunner and Creative Producer with my own production company.

What motivates you?
It depends on the day. Sometimes it’s needing to pay bills. Sometimes it’s an exciting new storyline. Sometimes it’s my family or friends. Sometimes it’s the urge to want to do something in my life and make a difference.

June the person is introverted but loves a good discussion, binge-watching a TV show, or taking mental health walks. June the professional is always on, focused, organized, and loves a good spreadsheet or new office supplies.
