About
“We are always in a perpetual state of being created and creating ourselves.” -Daniel J. Siegel
The mind and body has the capacity to “rewire”, reprocess and recreate. Emotional development can be stunted by emotional distress or trauma, and can result in dysregulation of our internal functioning. Unprocessed trauma/distress from childhood can resurface in adulthood. Therapy can provide support and direction, by offering a place to acknowledge, understand and navigate the body's attempt at healing.
I am a bilingual-Spanish Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #90561). I completed my Doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from The Chicago school of Professional Psychology, a Master's degree in Counseling from the California State University, Fullerton and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine.
I am trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which can facilitate the reprocessing of historical trauma. Through psycho-education, awareness/insight, self-compassion and the development of new tools, therapy can assist an individual in healing and create balance in their life; ultimately, I hope to provide you with the support, clarity and guidance needed to obtain emotional stability.
