About
Greetings! My name is Angelica, and I am grateful to be a part of this team and to assist you with addressing and fulfilling your mental health and treatment needs. I hold a blended educational background (MPH, MSW) which has allowed me to obtain a duality of experience in terms of social work and public health as impactful avenues of study and intervention. My background currently leads my approaches to therapeutic interventions with elevated consideration of the interplay between individual, societal, and environmental factors and how these variables affect mental health, access to quality healthcare, and ultimately one's well-being. My current experience stems from both fields and spans clinical settings, hospital settings, substance abuse, and rehab facilities where I have conducted biopsychosocial and psychiatric diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and both individual and group therapy in these settings. My therapeutic approach consists of collaboration and helping clients feel safe, supported, and above all, for them to feel that they are being seen and heard. Conducting a robust assessment, tailoring appropriate interventions, and utilizing respect, tact, and authenticity are at the heart of my values for optimized therapeutic outcomes.
My approach:
In addition to the utilization of standardized diagnostic measures, I also employ a comprehensive and holistic approach to the exploration of factors that can affect the human experience, how they do so, and how these elements can be leveraged to enhance treatment planning. As every client has different needs, it is crucial for me to begin where the client is at, and to build trust in terms of having them share their experience, preferred theoretical approaches, and suitable practices.
My focus:
My current specialties consist of treatment with adults 21+ at this time.
My communication style:
It is important for me that clients acquire a sense of familiarity and comfort in terms of assessment and during the initiation of therapy I work with the client to discuss communicative approaches that suit each client the best.
My goals for you:
Goal setting is recognized to be a collaborative endeavor, however, I believe in also tailoring these with the client based on their unique and specific needs.
My first session with you:
During the first sessions, the process of compiling information is important for performing a diagnostics assessment, biopsychosocial information, and review of current needs, and clients who see me are provided information on why conducting a thorough assessment is helpful for the consequent process of diagnosing, setting treatment goals and employing necessary interventions and for treatment modalities.
